I Take My Place was performed for the inauguration of the central public square of a new residential and commercial neighbourhood, to reclaim and celebrate the history of the city through a storytelling performance. A two-month summer residency gave rise to an intergenerational performance of tales by forty participants, with historical, anecdotal and imaginary tableaux recounting major events and anecdotes from the town's history. The performance took place on the new square in the presence of neighbours, the mayor, elected officials, as well as the financial partners responsible for the new construction. In the final scene, each spectator was invited to take their place side by side in the middle of the square.
